Admission to the Özyeğin Pilotaj program

There are two routes: the national YKS exam for Turkish citizens, and direct international admission. Both require an SHGM Class 1 medical at registration.

Updated:

Turkish citizens: YKS with a SAY score

Places are filled through ÖSYM's national placement using the YKS SAY score. The program has a paid track and a small full-scholarship track.

International applicants

Students with a high school diploma equivalent to a Turkish one apply directly to Özyeğin University with an ÖzU-YÖS or equivalent exam score, or with their diploma grades. Quotas are announced every year by ÖSYM in its guide for international students, and students are admitted at the beginning of the academic year.

The university asks for a passport, high school diploma and transcripts, a motivation letter and an English test result if you have one. Foreign diplomas also need an equivalency certificate (denklik).

English

All teaching is in English. Students who do not meet Özyeğin's English threshold first complete the English Preparatory Program. The accepted exams and minimum scores are set by the university; send us your certificate and we will check it.

SHGM Class 1 medical

To register you need a valid Class 1 medical certificate from an aeromedical centre authorised by SHGM. The certificate must not carry a limitation that would stop you flying as pilot-in-command on single-pilot aircraft. Book it early: if a problem shows up, you want time to deal with it.
